I let a friend stay in my apartment a few months ago and they brot their blankets from their parents home. The blankets stunk from their dogs. When the friend left, the oder stayed. How can I get rid of it? It's imbarrassing to have my place stink when people come over. I tryed airfretioners and keeping my windows open nearly the hole sumber long. But the smell stays. It is gone at night but returns during the day and is strong if my windows are closed.
Fabreeze works the best. Probably didn't spell that right.
oh yes, heard a lot about that too.
try it.
That usually works for the more mild odors. If you get extremely bad odors, there is a machine that my grandparents let us borrow, and I don't know how it works, but it will get any bad odor out. When we first moved into the house we now live in, it absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. So, we repainted the entire inside of the house, and then used this cool little machine to get rid of the paint odors. Within four hours, they were gone. Unfortunately, I can't even begin to imagine how to spell the name of it. If I figure it out, I'll post again.
You might try steam cleaning. A good steam clean will usually get rid of the dog smell. Though I can't imagine why it would go away at night, then come back during the day. Smells can't usually tell time. So you might actually look into a different cause of the smell. Perhaps something in your house, maybe your air conditioning, smells, and you turn it up during the day because its hotter, and it releases the smell. Just a thaught.
how warm is your house during the day compared to at night? sometimes the heat can bring out bad odors, (or good ones for that matter).
I thik its because I usually sleep with my windows open and the fresh air can get in. but then I wake up and its to cold, or the day goes buy and noon comes with warm weather and I close it. If my windows are closed it comes back. I am not sure if the timp has much to do with it, maybe some. The smell was never here untill the person brot the blankets. The smell of the blankets is what I am smelling, but the blankets are gone.
No, I don’t think it’s time, I think it is the fresh air. Like someone said before, oders can’t tell time. If it can tell time, it’s time to go…
I had to use a lot of Fabreeze when I first moved into my apartment because whoever lived in the unit before I did must have had a dog which they allowed to pee all over the carpet and you could really smell it. Fabreeze works fairly well on that and I also use those little plug-in air fresheners, not Glade but something similar. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a Christmasy one for that time of year. But the Fabreeze and the air freshener took care of that and what little smels the cat makes (usually after he's just taken a really big dump in the litter box).
oust works really well.
Wow. I've never heard of it. What exactly is oust?
Oust is a spray sanitizer that removes odors from the air.
